Peace Everyone,We're baaaaack!!!!! What's good!!? Hope this finds all of you well. Missed talking to you guys for the last few months. Finally getting back around to
First and foremost, I HAVE TO personally thank some people for helping me blast off my album... October 1st in NYC, October 8th in Philly, and this past Thursday night in San Francisco. I have to say that these three parties were some of my most moving moments as an artist... After all these years of breaking other people's songs, I finally have my first LP in the marketplace...whoa... And the response to the parties, the songs and the performances so far have been incredible to say the least. I have so many people in general to thank, but there are some key people I need to say something to here...bear with me...
In the number one "thanks a million" slot, it's a 3 way tie between Mike Adasko, Peggy Jean-Louis, and Louisa Brown. You guys are the best, FOR REAL!!! The administrative aspect of my LP release party would've been a pipe dream, without all the love and help you guys provided. Here's to many more beautiful events together y'all.
Next, I have to send an enormous love to Kindred Spirits USA/NL, Studio Distribution, The Marksmen, OK Player, Suite 903, Dick Shea's (14th & 6th, NYC), Lavende Lounge ( SF) and MBN Studios ( 725 N 4th, Philly). As the venues and sponsors of these release parties, your contribution has been priceless. I really can't thank you guys enough for getting behind this project, and allowing us to do our thing through your promotional efforts, support, mailings, and the beautiful spaces we were able to do these parties in. I am really looking forward to all of us doing many more events together, in the near and distant future.
Tracy Washinsky, your assistance has been a Godsend so far... Thanks for helping me refrain from going postal over the last 3 months of kookiness...
Mark Hines... you are the man bro. Never knew we would have come to this so soon. Thank you for everything.
Ben Barnett, thank you for keeping your word as my friend, and my landlord. Here's to revisiting what we brought together when All That! was at MBN Studios years ago.
Carlos Nieto, DJ Sake 1, Pacific Standard Time, Tommy & the San Jose crew, J Boogie and Lavende Lounge (SF), thank you guys for one of my most memorable musical trips to the West Coast ever, this past weekend. Let's keep that momentum working for us. Sake, looking forward to having you spin with me at APT on November 16th.
Brett Cook Dizney, you are a true pioneer my man. Congratulations on your second residency in The Headlands, and thank you for your beautiful renderings of of the Mike DiDonna photos we used for the record. Congrats on the birth of Sunyatta, and I look forward to the next time we got to sit and reason.
Mike DiDonna, thank you for the photo shoot we did outside Bowery Ballroom that night at the Antibalas show. Your photos are all over the website, and your shots are the cover shot on my LP now. We have yet to really know each other well, but than you for your contribution to my project, and I really appreciate your patience and openness to workinng with me. Your shots have helped me immensely.
